Job Description

We will be hiring up to five temps to produce content that raises the brand awareness of UAL Arts Temps with the London creative sector. We want you to create visual content which highlights the exemplary creative talent Arts Temps has in its workforce, to help find more employers in the creative industries for you to work with.  

 

You will create compelling, eye-catching and accessible visual media which can be shared both via social media and directly with prospective employers.  

 

The brief: 

 

Outline  

Arts Temps has been operating at UAL for over a decade, providing students with work opportunities within the University. In April 2021 the service launched as an external business, meaning it can now partner with UK based businesses, providing students and alumni with more opportunities than before.  

 

The problem? Whilst  well-established within the University, Arts Temps is new to the wider creative sector. The purpose of this project is to raise awareness of Arts Temps with potential clients, by demonstrating the creative talent at UAL through the work our temps produce themselves. Your work speaks for itself. We want you to create visual media, such as images, video or animation, that shows what Arts Temps is and why people should use it for recruitment. These will be shared on social media, the website and directly with potential clients.  

 

Advertising Objective  

To increase brand awareness of UAL Arts Temps amongst potential clients operating within and outside of the creative industries in London.   

 

Messaging  

You can lean on your own creative practice to create something unique, but you must include key messaging about Arts Temps. This will include answering one of these key questions in your work:   

  • ‘What is UAL Arts Temps?’   

  • ‘How can UAL Arts Temps help your business?’  

  • ‘Why should I hire through UAL Arts Temps?’  

  • ‘What jobs can Arts Temps do?’   

  • ‘Why should students and alumni sign up to Arts Temps?’     

 

Target Audience  

London based businesses seeking creative professionals:   

  • Businesses in need of temporary support for a project or event at short notice  

  • Employers who don’t have time to go through a whole recruitment process to find new staff (either temporary or permanent)   

  • Employers who require staff with specialist art and design expertise  

 

Key consumer benefit  

The temps are at the forefront of their creative practices, providing businesses with the most innovative staffing option available. With a diverse range of experiences temps are ideal for either the most specialist roles, such as a backstage photographer for a fashion show; or for those times when you need a lot of staff in a hurry, like when you need to run a mass COVID testing site.  

 

Brand Statement  

UAL Arts Temps is London’s most creative workforce.   

Arts Temps partners with businesses to offer UAL students and alumni fairly paid temporary and permanent work opportunities in the creative and non-creative sectors.

Advertising medium  

You can create an image, GIF or video that’s easily shareable on social media. If you’re creating a video, it should be no longer than 60 seconds.   

 

You have the creative freedom to apply your practice to the brief, we want to see your skills, expertise and experience in the work.  

 

Mandatory elements  

You must answer one of the five questions outlined in the messaging. We will work with five designers, each will work primarily to answer one of the questions.    

You must include the Arts Temps logo.   

You must include ‘Made by temps’ in the footer – both will be sent to you.

Personal Specification

We are looking for students and graduates to create videos, animations or images which can be used in a Made By Arts Temps social media campaign.  

This role will suit somebody who enjoys collaborating with other creatives but produces work well independently.  

 

  • Essential: Confident using video editing or animation software  

  • Essential: Ability to generate fantastic ideas, work to a brief and execute your concept to a high quality 

  • Essential: Show a portfolio of examples of your image or video work for an online audience 

  • Desirable: proven experience of delivering content to a brief
