Location: Hybrid, co-located, minimum 2 days a week at 272 High Holborn or other UAL colleges

As part of leaning into these unique challenges and opportunities we are looking for a Freelance Junior Graphic Designer to join us in the UAL Brand and Creative Services team. We are looking for a design-focused, organised creative problem solver who will report into, assist and support the Graphic Designer, as well the wider team. An energetic team player who gets as excited about the big picture as well as the small details, diligent and not afraid of rolling their sleeves up. Duties and responsibilities
Principal responsibilities

- Working with the team in the creation of creative, effective, on brand design assets, across digital and print, based on an understanding of current multi-channel communication campaigns.
- To creatively problem solve and critically assess design briefs
- To support the team delivering appropriate, well researched responses to briefs, using design thinking methodologies and providing a variety of design options as and when requested.
- To actively participate in ideation and feedback sessions, provide input and share ideas with the team.
- To be confident presenting work at different stages of the design process, with the design team and colleagues.
- To be able to give and receive constructive feedback to the team and apply that to develop work.
- To join regular meetings with designers and colleagues commissioning work.

- Report to and assist the Graphic Designer. Support the wider Creative Services team on the progression of multiple briefs.
- Managing time and projects simultaneously to meet deadlines.
- Working closely with colleagues across the organisation, taking a joined-up approach to design work and foster a positive culture of collaboration.

- Advocate for design thinking fundamentals and creative problem solving for our team and across the organisation.
- Work with our Brand team to protect the brand and to strengthen our visual identity.
- Assume other reasonable duties consistent with your role, which may be assigned to you anywhere within the University.
