Job Description

The Pre-sessional team is looking for an assistant to support the delivery of on campus classes for pre-sessional English course. 

Resources Assistant will help support the delivery of on-campus classes. These classes take place at London College of Communication, Monday to Friday. 

The person will be responsible for maintaining the IT and AV equipment in the classrooms as well as managing the stationary provision 

The role is the first point of AV/IT support for tutors and the academic team on site and will work closely with the LCC AV team to maintain working resources. 

The assistant will also assist during assessments to ensure that the students are doing assessments without technical difficulty.  

Resources Assistant will work from 8.00am to 2.30pm Monday to Friday. 

 

Purpose of role 

  • To work closely with the International Programme Co-ordinator, Learning Technology and Programme Coordinator, the course academic team and LCC AV team. 

  • Ensure that all AV and IT equipment in classrooms is fully operational during the teaching hours. 

  • Provide support for any emerging technical/resources issues for both students and tutors during the on-campus delivery.    

  • Ensure that all classrooms are well equipped in stationery and fans. 

  • Prepare stationary order for International Programme Coordinator  

  • Help with equipment move to and from LCC 

Personal Specification

  • Competency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook  

  • Experience of Moodle and Blackboard Collaborate Ultra 

  • IT and AV knowledge required 

  • Excellent numeracy, accuracy and attention to detail  

  • Communicates effectively orally, in writing and/or using visual media 

  • Works collaboratively in a team or with different professional groups  

  • An understanding of the international student experience at UAL   

  • Contributes to the work of the team, providing support, assistance and cover where needed with a ‘can-do’ approach  

  • Provides a positive and responsive student, tutor or customer service  

  • Uses initiative or creativity to resolve day-to-day-problems  

  • Distinguishes between the need to make a decision and when to defer to others
