Job Description

Our client is a high-end womenswear label preparing to launch its debut capsule collection — a curated line of future heirlooms designed for the modern woman. The brand’s philosophy is rooted in agile luxury: creating beautifully crafted, limited-edition garments that are built to last. With ambitious plans to grow into a global label, this is an exciting opportunity to join the team at a formative stage and help shape its creative and technical direction.

The Role
Our client is seeking an experienced and self-sufficient Pattern Cutter to join its Marylebone studio. The successful candidate will play a key role in bringing the first collection of 33 garments to life, released in a phased rollout over several months. Working closely with the founder, the Pattern Cutter will interpret design briefs, develop patterns, and oversee the fitting and sampling process.

Key Responsibilities
• Develop and cut accurate patterns for a range of luxury womenswear pieces, ensuring exceptional fit and finish.
• Produce accurate toiles in calico and conduct fit sessions on mannequins and live models.
• Collaborate on design development, exploring silhouettes, shaping techniques, and construction methods suited to bespoke textiles.
• Work with specialist and delicate fabrics including silks, embroidery, knitwear, and bias-cut materials, adapting patterns to accommodate fabric behaviour.
• Prepare production-ready pattern packs, including digital annotations, cutting notes, and construction guidance.
• Liaise with production partners (including the brand’s New York–based producer) to ensure patterns translate seamlessly into production.
• Meet agreed deadlines and manage workflow independently within a flexible studio environment.
• Maintain clear pattern archives, digital version control, and organised workflow systems within the studio.

Personal Specification

About You
• Degree in Fashion Design, Pattern Cutting, or a related field, with a strong focus on pattern cutting.
• 1–2 years’ experience in a similar role within a high-end or luxury brand.
• Exceptional technical knowledge of garment construction, pattern drafting, and fabric handling.
• Strong understanding of fit, proportion, and how to adapt shapes across different materials.
• Strong knowledge of digital pattern-cutting software such as Gerber AccuMark and Lectra Modaris.
• Ability to import, edit, and export pattern files.
• Comfortable using digital tools for grading checks, notching, seam allowances, and preparing patterns for production and sampling.
• Proactive problem solver who thrives on autonomy and precision.
• Comfortable working in an evolving start-up environment and contributing to a growing brand vision.
• Willingness to travel to New York approximately four times a year for short production visits.
• Available to start in January (or sooner).

Details
• Based in Marylebone, London.
• Full-time role with flexible working hours.
