Building Accessibility Advisory Group Member

Job Description

Help UAL to deliver built environments that are inclusive by design for disabled people and people with other marginalised identities by:

Attending training and continuing to help develop and improve the “Inclusive Design Standards” for UAL.
Attending termly Advisory Group meetings (including reviewing papers that are circulated in advance).
Receiving and scrutinising updates on estates projects and their progress.
Identifying any access issues that might arise in building or project plans.
Working with UAL Estates to develop solutions to any access and inclusion issues identified, including issues raised via access audits.
Being available from time to time, where Estates are seeking views online for specific time-sensitive issues and attend site visits.
Members will not share sensitive information about projects with anyone outside the group.

Personal Specification

First- or second-year students

Good knowledge of one or more UAL buildings

Knowledge or experience of disability

Interest in inclusive design

Good communication skills

Interest in collaborating with staff and other students
