Jewellery Designer

Job Description

Working Pattern: 3 days per week (flexible, open to discussion)
Contract: Initial 3-month contract, with possibility of extension
Location: Kensington, London (studio-based only – no remote working)

We are seeking a highly creative and motivated Jewellery Designer to join a dynamic studio environment working on contemporary, artistic jewellery collections.

This opportunity is for a designer with a strong conceptual approach and an interest in sculptural, statement-led, and experimental jewellery. You will work closely with the lead designer and collaborate with specialist manufacturers and artisans in India to develop designs from concept through to production.

The role offers significant creative freedom alongside hands-on involvement in materials, sourcing, and manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities

Develop jewellery collections from creative briefs and design direction
Create original concepts across artistic, contemporary, and statement-led styles
Produce sketches, visual research, and design development work
Collaborate closely with manufacturers and artisans in India throughout production stages
Research materials, gemstones, metals, and experimental production techniques
Manage multiple design projects while meeting deadlines and production schedules
Translate creative concepts into production-ready designs

Personal Specification

BA or MA in Jewellery Design (or equivalent experience)
Minimum 2 years’ experience in jewellery design or a related creative role
Strong understanding of jewellery-making techniques, materials, and production processes
Highly creative with the ability to work across varied design directions and briefs
Proficiency in Procreate, Photoshop, and relevant design software
Confidence using Midjourney and other AI tools within a creative workflow
Strong organisational skills with the ability to work independently and to deadlines
Excellent communication skills for working with international manufacturers and collaborators
