Library Shelver

Student Shelver role at Camberwell Library 

Job Description 

In this role you will be responsible for shelving returned books in the library. This role requires you to work up to 5 hours per week. The shift times are flexible and arranged with your line manager. This is a term-time only role. This post is located at Camberwell College of Arts Library.

Personal Specification

Ensure that returned books and other resources are shelved in their correct location on the library shelves.
Tidy specific sections of the library (putting the books back in order, according to the Dewey Decimal system).
Occasionally assist with moving the books and other library materials, as required. 

Knowledge/Experience: 

Experience of working/volunteering in a library. Desirable 

Basic understanding of how the library shelving system works. Essential 

Disposition: 

Reliable and able to commit to regular shifts as agreed. Essential 

Self-motivated and able to work methodically and accurately. Essential 

Able to maintain attention to detail whilst performing repetitive tasks. Essential 

Health & Safety:

Able to cope with the physical demands of the role. Essential

Solid understanding of and commitment to the health and safety responsibilities of the role. Essential
