Job Description

The MA Showcase Event Ambassadors will play a key role in creating a positive and welcoming experience for guests at UAL’s 2024 MA Showcase. Ambassadors will greet and assist guests, check and scan tickets, oversee exhibition spaces, serve drinks, and provide directions throughout the venue. Successful candidates will be warm, approachable, and adaptable, capable of handling busy event environments while promoting a professional and welcoming atmosphere.

You will need to arrive promptly at Millbank Tower at 5PM (next to Tate Britain) to receive a briefing and induction.

Key Responsibilities 

Greeting/Assistance 

  • Welcome all guests and ensure they feel comfortable and informed 
  • Direct guests to specific areas and answer general questions about the event, artists, and UAL 

 

 Ticketing  

  • Check and scan tickets using Eventbrite 
  • Resolve minor ticketing issues and escalate any significant issues to a member of the Millbank Tower space team 

 

Exhibition Space Invigilation 

  • Monitor the exhibition space to ensure the safety and security of artwork and installations, switching artworks on/off as necessary  

 

Venue Navigation 

  • Be familiar with the event layout, key facilities, and emergency exits 
  • Direct guests to event areas, toilets, exits, and other points of interest
  •  

Bar Services 

- Serve drinks at the bar in a friendly and professional manner 
- Ensure the bar area remains clean, stocked, and organized
  •  

Health and Safety  

  • Be mindful of building safety protocols and emergency exits 
  • Escalate any health, safety, or security concerns to the Millbank Tower UAL team as required
  •  

UAL Representation 

  • Serve as an enthusiastic and professional ambassador for UAL 
  • Reflect UAL’s values in interactions with guests 

Personal Specification

  • Successful candidates will be warm, approachable, and adaptable, capable of handling busy event environments while promoting a professional and welcoming atmosphere.
  •  
  • - Friendly, approachable, and able to create a positive guest experience
  • - Ability to maintain composure in a busy environment
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Diligence in ticket scanning, guest direction, and adherence to safety procedures.
  • - Ability to recognise when to escalate concerns and support guests or team members
