We are looking for ushers and ambassadors for our Wimbledon College of Art BA show. This work will be assigned in shifts, listed at the end of this advert.
Successful candidates will have the following:
- Essential availability to work a minimum of 3 shifts in addition to the paid training (either 11.30am – 10.30pm (Usher) or 11.30am - 9pm (Ambassador) every day, Saturday 21st June shifts will be shorter at 11:30am – 5pm) from Saturday 14 June (closed Sunday) to Saturday 21 June.
- Available to attend paid training on Friday 13th June, 11am – 1pm.
- Experience overseeing and carrying out ushering or ambassador style duties or a public venue/site/event programme. This includes greeting the public, answering questions, checking tickets, organising an orderly queue for the theatre, taking direction from the Duty manager and Creative Producer, Technicians and Academics on site. This also includes ushering audiences into and out of auditoriums, understanding health and safety implications and requirements around audience capacity.
- Knowledge or interest in health and safety regulations, implications and requirements for both public and staff, including around audience capacity.
- Knowledge of or ability to learn the fire safety regulations
- Team working experience
- Experience of liaising and effectively communicating with a wide variety of people.
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly manner.
Desired but not essential:
- Experience with evacuation of audience
- First aid training
- Experience Ushering in a public venue
- Familiarity with Wimbledon Collage of Arts
