This is a very specialist role! We are looking for three candidates, who can review and proofread a poem that has been translated using AI translation tools. The poem was commissioned as part of a project celebrating South Asian Heritage Month in August this year, and has been narrated as part of a soundtrack for a VR film that is being launched on Thursday 13th November. The VR film will then tour a series of spaces across Newham in November.
Given the variety of languages spoken across the borough we would like to offer paper-based translations of the poem in Hindi, Bengali and Tamil.
Can you speak and read any of those languages fluently enough to check the translations for errors, and make small amendments if needed?
We estimate that this should be quite a quick and straightforward job - possibly half a day. Obviously if the proof reading indicates that there is much more work to be done on the translations, we would discuss this as an extension.
