Student Ambassadors need to be trained to lead tours for visitors attending college tours, open days and offer holder days. We have allotted this timeslot to train new ambassadors before the upcoming Offer Holder Events in April at Wimbledon College of Arts. You may or may not be selected to work at these Offer Holder Events, depending on how many student ambassadors we need to represent each course. Regardless, you will be added to our student ambassador database and contacted via email in the future for ad-hoc work opportunities at the college. Therefore you must attend this tour training to be considered for ambassador work that involves leading tours.

Applicants must complete this application, including submitting a 30 second video of them talking confidently about their course and/or college. Student Ambassadors will attend a training session lasting between 2.5 and 3 hours where they will be briefed on what we expect from Ambassadors, be shown the college tour route, following the tour script, and then be given the opportunity to lead parts of the tour themselves while offering information from the script.

All accepted Student Ambassador applicants will be contacted by [email protected] confirming the training date, hours and any ArtsTemps registration steps that need to be completed beforehand. They will also be sent a form to complete with basic information to be added to the database and be asked for a photo that we will use to identify them.

For successful applicants, a WhatsApp group will be set up a few days before the shift to remind you and enable easier communication on the day.

Personal Specification

A Student Ambassador needs to be confident in public speaking with strong communication skills. They need to responsible and friendly. They need to be aware of visitors with accessibility requirements and ensure that everyone can hear them and is engaged in the tour while walking around the college. As well as giving college tours they will also be welcoming guests and answering questions about their student experience. Ambassadors also need to commit to their work hours and communicate at least 48 hours in advance if they are longer able to work.

We are an equal opportunities employer and positively encourage applications from suitably qualified and eligible candidates regardless of sex, race, disability, age, sexual orientation, gender reassignment, religion or belief, marital status, or pregnancy and maternity.
