Job Description

UAL is looking for a diligent and efficient administrator to support the UAL Online team to provide support to the Commercial Team, spanning research, marketing, recruitment, student support and business operations. This role best suits a candidate with previous administrative / project coordination experience who can adapt quickly to support the department’s services.

Responsibilities may include: 

  • Provide project management to ongoing activities, supporting the development of planning and scoping deliverables to achieve on-time and on-budget delivery
  • Drafting and planning communications related to projects and their outputs, working with others as required to publish these
  • Supporting the coordination and administration of projects, including meetings and workshops with other project team members, stakeholders, suppliers and partners
  • Drafting project plans and reports, including financial and progress reports in line with internal and external requirements, monitoring project data as appropriate
  • Monitoring and administer budgets, in liaison with the Commercial Director, UAL Online
  • Ensuring that all financial arrangements and transactions are managed in line with UAL’s Finance Policies.
  • Coordination and management of legal, regulatory and policy reviews
  • Booking meetings, and diary management, for the Commercial Team
    Performing such duties consistent with your role as may from time to time be assigned to you anywhere within the University

Ideal candidates should possess the following qualities:

  • Good knowledge of Higher Education Research environment (desirable)
  • Previous experience in an administrative support role
  • Knowledge and understanding of project management principles
  • Experience of coordinating projects (including financial/budget coordination and administration)
  • Experience of organising events/workshops/ conferences
  • Communicates effectively orally and in writing adapting the message for a diverse audience in an inclusive and accessible way 
  • Plans, prioritises and organises work to achieve objectives on time
  • Uses initiative or creativity to resolve problems
    Works collaboratively in a team and where appropriate across or with different professional groups
  • Delivers positive and responsive customer or student service
  • Proficient in Office 365, including Word, PowerPoint, Teams, and MS Excel
