We are seeking two skilled and detail-oriented Exhibition Installation Technicians to support the setup and deinstallation of fine art exhibitions. This role requires a careful hand, a practical mind, and an appreciation for the delicate dialogue between artwork, space, and viewer.
Installation will be from 10am on Tuesday 21 April, and take down will be from 10am Thursday 30 April.
You will be responsible for safely handling, installing, and positioning artworks to museum and gallery standards, ensuring each piece is presented exactly as intended.
Key Responsibilities
- Install and deinstall artworks including paintings, sculptures, digital media, and mixed-media pieces
- Measure, mark, and mount works with precision using appropriate tools and hardware
- Handle artworks safely, following best practices for conservation and care
- Assist with condition checking and reporting before and after installation
- Work closely with curators, registrars, and exhibition designers to realise layout plans
- Operate access equipment (ladders, scaffolding, lifts) as required
- Install lighting, AV equipment, and basic electrical components when needed
- Pack and unpack artworks for transport and storage
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment
