Job Description

We are hiring for a new pool of CCW students and recent graduates to support the annual event programme at CCW, including exhibitions, lectures and theatre productions. 

We are currently looking for candidates who are available to work a minimum of three of the following dates at Wimbledon: 

Variable Shifts for Summer Shows 

  • Saturday 13 June, 11.30am - 9.30pm 
  • Monday 15 June, 11.30am - 9.30pm 

  • Tuesday 16 June, 11.30am - 9.30pm 

  • Wednesday 17 June, 11.30am - 9.30pm 

  • Thursday 18 June, 11.30am - 9.30pm 

  • Friday 19 June, 11.30am - 9.30pm 

  • Saturday 20 June, 11.30am - 5.30pm
 

Responsibilities include: 

    • Briefing the ushers, security and cleaning staff.
    •  Meeting with event organisers.
    •  Ensuring spaces are set up and packed down according to the brief.
    •  Familiarising yourself with the event layout, schedule and programme as well as any relevant important information to pass on to guests and ushers.
    •  Administering schedules, radios and clickers for team.
    •  Managing breaks for ushers.
    •  Checking tickets from list of ticket bookings, recording visitor numbers and managing guests lists.
    •  Directing and supporting guests in the event of an evacuation.
    •  Monitoring the flow and capacity of event spaces, such as organising orderly queues for the theatre and maintaining fire escape routes.
    •  Contacting the right departments in the event of an emergency or incident
    •  Filling in the event report.
     

    Training: 

    • Full training for this role will be provided Friday 12th June, 3pm - 5pm. 

    • You will be expected to keep up to date with current procedures and to attend training sessions when requested (plenty of notice will be given for this).

We are looking for a diverse group of duty managers that can reflect and assist the dynamic array of staff, students and public that we welcome to Wimbledon performances. 

Ideal candidates should possess the following qualities: 

  • Current CCW student or recent graduate (graduated in 2025). 

  • CCW Event Assistant training completed. 

  • Ability to work without supervision, using initiative and creativity to resolve day-to-day-problems. 

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities; comfortable and confident speaking to strangers. 

  • Positive and professional attitude. 

  • Take pride in working effectively as part of a team. 

  • Experience working in a public-facing role, such as a public venue or event. 

  • Strong organisational and multitasking skills. 

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. 

  • Willingness to attend event training on various subjects, such as health and safety requirements and EDI. 

  • Reliable and committed, with exceptional time management.
