Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • UAL require Arts Temp/s to work flexibly on the dates listed below to support the build and installation of the post Graduate Show 2026:

  • 24-26th June

  • 29th June - 3rd July

Tasks include but not limited to:

  • Building and moving temporary walls, materials, exhibition furniture or other fixtures.

  • Clearing studios, arranging show spaces and workspaces and organising materials.

  • Fixing rails and hanging systems into walls/boards.

  • Assisting students and Showcase Team with all relevant install tasks.

  • Following verbal, written and drawn instructions to building temporary exhibition spaces for a range of courses.

Please note:

  • No weekend days or bank holiday working.

  • Workday is 8 hrs with 1 hr lunch (unpaid).

  • 9am–5pm unless otherwise agreed with Showcase Team Manager.

Personal Specification

Essential:

  • Must be available for ALL dates listed.

  • UAL ORB Ladder/Working at Height training: https://orb-arts.siso.co/ Please provide screenshot of successfully completed training confirmation with your application.

  • Completion of any or all the following showcase sessions:

    • Showcase Team Core Skills: Working at Height and Manual Handling session attended and practical completed.

    • Showcase Team Core Skills: Risk Assessments and Method Statements session attended and practical completed.

  • Able to confidently and competently use drills and basic hand tools: Please provide detail of your current experience with your application.

  • Must be able to communicate and interact with students and staff professionally.

  • Familiar with site and staff structure.

Desirable

  • Completion of any or all the following showcase sessions:

    1. Introduction to Installing Audio Visual for Professional Display

    2. Introduction to Packing Art, Moving and Storage

    3. Introduction to Hanging and Suspending Work

    4. Introduction to Plinths/Shelf/Flat & Temporary Wall Fabrication

    5. Introduction to Space Preparation, Painting and Making Good

  • Prior experience installing exhibitions. Confident with basic exhibition build tasks, building temporary walls and structures, installing brackets, shelves.

  • Competent reading floorplans and RA documentation.

  • Must have a calm, positive and flexible approach to problem solving with others.

  • Must be comfortable using own initiative and taking instructions.
