Job Description

About the Role

The Projects & Showcase Team is looking for a temporary Resource Developer to support the creation of two connected resources for students and staff across Camberwell, Chelsea and Wimbledon.

The first resource will be a Projects & Showcase Team Provision and Session Menu, explaining what the team offers, when staff should book support, when students should attend sessions, and how the offer supports Art, Design and Performance pathways. This resource should support student skills, professional practice and engagement with event-based curriculum delivery.

The second resource will be a Student Show Handbook, giving students practical guidance on preparing for exhibitions, events, installations, public-facing activity and graduate showcase work.

This role will involve working from existing materials and turning them into clear, accessible and visually engaging resources. The successful candidate should be able to think carefully about how information is structured, navigated and understood, using design-led approaches such as keys, visual systems, diagrams, prompts, checklists, icons and clear hierarchy to make the documents easy to read and use.

The aim is to help students understand that health and safety, show planning, installation, AV, space preparation, display, transport and sustainability are part of professional practice, not just background tasks.

The postholder will work closely with the Professional Practice & Graduate Show Manager, who will act as content owner and provide direction, key messages and approval boundaries.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review existing Projects & Showcase Team materials, including session menus, course mapping, show guidance and related documents

  • Develop clear written content for a staff-facing and student-facing provision / session menu document

  • Develop clear written content for a practical student-facing show handbook

  • Translate detailed information into accessible language for students and staff

  • Use design-led approaches to make information easy to navigate, including visual hierarchy, keys, diagrams, prompts, checklists and other simple visual systems

  • Help organise information so students understand when to seek support and how to prepare for show activity

  • Create simple checklists, prompts and guidance for planning, install, open periods and de-install

  • Support the development of guidance around exhibitions, showcases, events, public-facing activity and graduate show preparation

  • Help develop a practical risk assessment prompt or template that supports creative thinking while helping students identify safe routes to delivery

  • Identify gaps, duplicated information or areas that need further checking

  • Prepare draft versions for review and incorporate agreed feedback

  • Ensure final documents are editable and can be updated by the team in future

Deliverables

The successful candidate will produce:

  • A draft and final Projects & Showcase Team Provision and Session Menu

  • A draft and final Student Show Handbook

  • Student-facing checklists for planning, install, open period and de-install

  • A practical risk assessment prompt or template to support student planning

  • A short list of gaps or information requiring further confirmation

  • Editable final files for future use by the team

How to Apply

1. A Short Cover Letter

No more than one page, outlining why you are interested in the role and how your experience relates to the development of clear, accessible and visually engaging resources for students and staff.

2. One or Two Examples of Relevant Work

  • A learning resource

  • A map, diagram, key or visual system

Please include a short note with each example explaining:

  • What the resource was for

  • Who the audience was

  • What your role was in producing it

  • How you approached making the information clear and easy to use

Assessment Criteria

Applications will be assessed on:

  • The strength and relevance of the cover letter

  • Evidence of clear writing and communication

  • Evidence of strong information design, structure and visual hierarchy

  • Ability to make complex information accessible and engaging

  • Relevance of previous examples to the aims of this role

  • Understanding of student-facing resources, creative education, exhibitions, events or public-facing activity

Additional Information

This is a short fixed-term project role of up to 140 hours, to be completed by 31 July 2026.

The successful candidate will be expected to work independently, with regular check-ins, and to manage their time effectively so the work is completed by the agreed deadline.

The role is focused on content development, structure, writing and resource design. It does not require the post-holder to create teaching content, or to make decisions on Health and Safety, Fire, Facilities, technical permissions or formal approval routes.

The post-holder should avoid presenting guidance as formal approval where additional review may be required.

The final resources should be clear, inclusive, student-centred, visually accessible and easy to update.

Final documents should be completed by 31 July 2026.
