Job Description

London College of Fashion, University of the Arts London (UAL) is seeking a fit model to support teaching and learning across Years 2 and 3 of the BA (Hons) Fashion Design Technology: Womenswear course, based at our East Bank, Stratford campus.

The role will involve working closely with students and academic staff during garment fitting sessions, enabling students to evaluate fit, proportion, construction, and garment development throughout the design process.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a fit model for student womenswear garments throughout the academic year.
  • Attend scheduled fitting sessions and provide consistency for garment development and assessment.
  • Wear prototype garments and toile samples during fittings.
  • Maintain standing positions for extended periods and follow instructions from staff and students.
  • Support students in understanding garment fit, balance, movement and construction.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, reliability and a positive attitude throughout all sessions.
  • Communicate clearly and respectfully with students and staff.

Schedule

The role consists of a series of fitting sessions across the academic year. Sessions are scheduled between 09:30–12:30 and 13:30–17:00 on the following dates:

November

  • 3–5 November
  • 17–19 November

February

  • 23–25 February

March

  • 9–11 March

April

  • 13–15 April
  • 20–22 April

May

  • 4–6 May

Applicants should be available for as many of these dates as possible. Preference may be given to candidates with greater availability across the schedule.

Personal Specification

Ideal candidates will demonstrate:

  • Previous fitting or modelling experience (desirable but not essential).
  • Confidence working in an educational and creative environment.
  • Excellent punctuality and reliability.
  • The ability to stand for extended periods during garment fittings.
  • A professional and approachable manner.
  • Flexibility and willingness to work collaboratively with students and academic staff.
