We are looking for x2 flatmates from London College of Communication (LCC) who know each other well or get on – and have a good conversational dynamic.
As part of LCC’s Welcome campaign, you’ll take part in a playful, unscripted conversation about the things students think about but don’t always say out loud (hence the phrase ‘elephant in the room’ which is also nodding to LCC’s location in Elephant and Castle).
Topics may include roommate habits / etiquette, making friends, dating and relationships, navigating life / studies at College and the things you’d known when you started. Students can opt out of certain topics and do not necessarily need to have a personal connection – but can have an opinion or take.
We’re looking for a natural back-and-forth rather than polished answers. The interviewer (a member of the social media team) will ask questions or prompts off camera to help steer or get the conversation going. We are looking to source an elephant plushie – which will be the prop. You will be sat at a table together and whoever grabs the elephant must speak first. There might be some disagreement, there might be some teasing or awkward moments, plenty of laughs or time for honesty – but it’s all in good fun!
The tone should feel relatable and candid and all about giving new and returning students an honest glimpse into life at LCC. We also don’t mind chaos – you don’t need to be a professional speaker or someone who is used to being on camera – we just need your opinionated self and two friends who are up for a chat.
The film will be a very lo-fi production – made for LCC Instagram and UAL TikTok – and will be released in October.
Filming would take around 2.5 hours (possibly less) in our studio space at LCC. This would be a paid opportunity. Each student would be paid the G3 hourly rate (with holiday pay).
We are looking to film with people asap. Ideally Thursday 1 October. Otherwise, Tuesday 6 or Thursday 8 October at the very latest.
