Job Description

We are seeking an English-Spanish translator to support an online business consultation session with LCC academics and a Spanish-speaking business-owner based in Elephant & Castle.

The business consultation session forms part of Digital Shift, a programme led by LCC to support local businesses with their marketing and communication needs, funded by Southwark Council.

The consultation will be no more than 1.5 hours long and will be led by Lynsey Fox, Senior Lecturer in Media and Communications at LCC. Lynsey will be providing business consultation on marketing and communications, for example:

Marketing and comms business planning;
Social media strategy;
Branding and storytelling;
Audience development.

The business owner speaks English however a translator would be helpful, for example in explaining more complex concepts or tools.

The engagement is for 2 hours work - 1.5 hours business consultation translation + 0.5 hour briefing.

Personal Specification

Fluent English and Spanish speaker;
Experience translating English - Spanish and vice versa;
A confident communicator with a professional and welcoming attitude;
Experience or understanding of marketing and communications issues, concepts, tools and techniques would be beneficial.

Must be available to attend online business consultation from 2.45-4.15pm (UK time) on Tuesday, 16 September.

The meeting will be online via Teams and candidates must have a reliable internet connection and access to a quiet environment.
