not just a shop sells unique home, fashion, giftware and artwork by UAL students and alumni both in-store and online. Outside of retail hours it’s also a learning space; with a programme of enterprise events designed to help UAL students and alumni to launch and develop their creative businesses.
The not just a shop Retail Assistant will work in LCF Eastbank pop up store serving customers, and supporting retail operations and providing excellent customer service. The pop up will be selling not just a shop products as well as garments and accessories by LCF fashion businesses.
not just a shop is a project led by Careers and Employability, the University's dedicated careers and enterprise service that supports students and graduates to make a living doing what they love.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Participating in the day-to-day running of the shop
- Operating the till and accurately handling credit/debit card sales and all other transactions
- Maintain an excellent level of customer service at all times, remaining polite, courteous and helpful in all situations
- To maximise sales by having a thorough knowledge of all products stocked and advising customers accordingly
- Keeping the shop clean and tidy at all times and maintaining displays
- Support customers with the use of the changing rooms
- Ensuring the shop is safe and all fire exits /escape routes are free from obstructions and that health and safety procedures are effectively carried out.
- Field both telephone and in person enquiries from customers
- To ensure that the shop is run in accordance with the Retail Operations Manual
- To be aware of customers at all times ensuring against theft of stock
- To ensure appropriate levels of stock are maintained and advise manager when levels are low
Shifts
We are looking for one person to work on Tuesday - Saturday from 10.45 - 6.15pm. Please do not apply if you cannot do all the shifts. We are looking for a current student or recent graduate.
