We’re looking for a student to capture the energy, atmosphere and community spirit of Arts SU Varsity on Saturday 14 March - the biggest sporting event in the student calendar. After taking home the trophy last year, UAL is back and ready to defend it. This should feel like a “come with me” / vlog-style takeover, documenting the day and highlights from your POV - from the build-up, near-misses, to the big wins. The focus is on team camaraderie and love of the game. Think carefully about your first 3 seconds - this is key to stopping the scroll. This could be:
- a bold statement or soundbite
- a visual cue or transition
- a funny or chaotic blooper
- a sneak peek of a big moment that pays off later
The rest of the video should build momentum, keeping things tight, punchy, fast-paced and dynamic.
- Create with Gen Z audiences in mind and native to the platforms
- You may want to use stylised titles, sound effects or visual effects to add humour and emphasis
- Lean into your own personality and creative style
- Light humour is encouraged - don’t be afraid to have fun with it

Filming & Delivery Guidelines
- This reel should be no longer than 40 seconds.
- Film vertical (1080 × 1920), 4K at 30fps
- Clean your lens before filming
- Use natural or diffused light where possible; avoid standing with your back to a window
- Remove phone/camera case when filming
- When speaking to camera, avoid flat walls; consider your subject's background and leave space around them
- For your voiceover: record in a quiet space, close windows, use Do Not Disturb; a lapel mic is helpful but optional
- Share files via WeTransfer or SharePoint (not email)
- Send your Instagram and TikTok handles so we can tag you and add you as a collaborator
- Subtitles: Helvetica Neue Bold or Arial, placed centrally to avoid IG UI; add a shadow if needed for readability
