Events Assistant

Job Description

This role is to assist with UAL Awarding Body's Origins Creatives 2026 exhibition.

Events assistants will be required to work at the opening night on Tuesday 14 July from 5pm to 9pm. The venue is the Mall Galleries on The Mall.

The role will involve manning the entrances and registering/checking in guests who are attending the private view. All guests will have signed up via Eventbrite and the Events Assistants will be required to use the Eventbrite app to check them in.

The role will also require directing delegates around the building and managing people flow to avoid congestion or big crowds forming up.

Tasks:

Assist with setting up the entrance for the event

Setting up marketing materials and tote bags

Sign guests in through Eventbrite app

Handing out tote bags as guests come in

Guiding guests through the entrance

Assist with ad hoc tasks throughout the evening as required by Events Manager

Assist with tidying up at the end of the evening

Please note: a full events team will be on site and working throughout the entire event so Events Assistants will always have someone to ask for support or to escalate any problems to.

Personal Specification

We need 4x Arts Temps who have experience in assisting at large scale events (approx. 350 delegates).

Some VIP guests and/or press will be in attendance, so a friendly, approachable and professional manner is expected of all the Events Assistants.

The ideal candidates:

Must be well organised, alert and productive at all times during the event.

Will be required to wear smart black clothing (no trainers or jeans).

Must be able to use their own initiative as tasks may be carried out without supervision

Must be able to work well in a team, as well as take direction from the Events Manager on the day.

Experience in live events and customer service.
