This fabulous London fashion house works to a permanent archive model: every garment and bag is produced in a small numbered edition that closes and is never reproduced. They sell directly, from their Marylebone showroom and online.
They are looking for a Studio Assistant to manage the day-to-day running of the studio as editions move from development through production, photography and launch. This is an entry-level role suited to a recent graduate who wants to understand how a garment is actually made, moved and sold — not only how it is designed.
You will report to our production and commercial lead on all production matters, and to the founder and creative director and our digital communications and branding lead on everything else.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
SAMPLES AND MATERIALS
Coordinate sample movement between the London studio and our UK and European manufacturing partners — booking shipments, maintaining the DHL account, and chasing proactively so nothing sits.
Raise DHL labels and paperwork for inbound and outbound fabric, trim and component consignments, and make sure materials reach the correct sampling house on time.
Track customs and courier queries on those consignments, gather the documentation, chase suppliers and couriers, and escalate anything unresolved to the production lead promptly rather than sitting on it.
Place fabric, trim and component orders for sample development against briefs from the production lead, and follow them through to arrival.
DEVELOPMENT ADMINISTRATION
Keep master development sheets and tech packs current, so fabric, trim and consumption information is accurate at any given moment.
Attend design, development and fitting meetings, and capture what was decided.
PHOTOGRAPHY, PRESS AND LOANS
Prepare and dispatch garments for photography. Every sample logged out, logged back in, and presented immaculately.
Own the logistics of press and styling requests from our PR agency — booking couriers, preparing and packing pieces, tracking them out and back, and following up on returns. Requests come in against deadlines; this role is what makes them land on time.
SHOWROOM AND LAUNCH
Prepare the showroom for client appointments, and keep the space, stock and supplies to standard at all times.
Prepare product information sheets for our UK fulfilment partner so each edition is launch-ready.
Support cross-functional work across design, production and operations as the calendar requires.
