Job Description

Are you a postgraduate student who likes asking people questions?

We’re looking for creative content creators to produce engaging, ‘street interviewer’ style videos.

You will be capturing the organic, amusing, and lively energy of UAL students as they settle into the new academic year.

We are looking to hire 6 content creators in total - ideally aiming for one representative from each UAL college. If you love storytelling, social media, and chatting with people, read on to learn more!

What’s involved?

You will work (potentially in pairs to help with production and camera work) to film fast-paced, high-energy vox-pop videos at the Arts SU Welcome Fair later this month (Saturday 26 September).

We want to create content that is highly amusing, comedic, and entertaining, but still drops snippets of genuinely valuable advice for prospective applicants. Your goal is to strike that perfect balance: keeping the tone light and laugh-out-loud funny while extracting those gold-nugget tips about student life.

To help you get the most authentic, comfortable, and hilarious responses, we highly encourage you to invite your UAL flatmates, course mates, and student friends along to be interviewed on the day! Starting with people you already know is a fantastic way to break the ice and get the conversational energy flowing.

The interview questions will target both the fun and the practical, including:

  • How was your week in one word?
  • Favourite thing about London so far?
  • Biggest culture shock or surprise since starting?
  • If your degree was a meme, which one would it be?
  • Biggest myth about art school you’ve realised isn’t true?
  • One tip you’d give to students applying to UAL?

This video content will be published across our official social media channels to engage both our current community and prospective applicants looking to join UAL.

Key Responsibilities

  • Attend the Arts SU Welcome Fair at Central Saint Martins on Saturday 26 September to capture raw footage.
  • Conduct spontaneous, charismatic street-style interviews with attending students.
  • Film steady, well-framed raw footage in portrait format (9:16) using a smartphone.
  • Ensure all audio is crisp and clear (e.g., using provided clip-on mics or interviewing in optimal sound environments).
  • Attend a brief 1-to-1 online briefing call with the content manager to confirm timelines and deliverables before filming.
  • Promptly submit all raw video clips and audio files immediately after the event within the agreed timeline.

Personal Specification

This opportunity is specifically for current Postgraduate students at University of the Arts London.

We are looking to build a team with representation from across all 6 UAL colleges.

We are looking for content creators who have:

  • Confidence behind and on camera, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience filming with smartphones (personal or professional setups are welcome).
  • A strong understanding of framing and sound quality to ensure raw footage is easy to edit internally.
  • The capability to keep interviews feeling organic, amusing, and highly engaging.
  • Strong organisational skills and reliability when working on campus
  • Available to attend Central Saint Martins on Saturday 26 September between the hours of 11am-6pm
  • The ability to share 1-3 examples of previous video work (TikToks, Reels, or project work) to showcase your filming style.

How to Apply

If this sounds like you, we'd love to hear from you! Please apply via Arts Temps by submitting your CV along with examples of your video work or a digital portfolio.

Please note: Applications without any examples of video work cannot be accepted.

We are an equal opportunities employer and positively encourage applications from suitably qualified and eligible candidates regardless of sex, race, disability, age, sexual orientation, gender reassignment, religion or belief, marital status, or pregnancy and maternity.
