Job Description

Role: Networking Workshop Facilitator
Location: Student Hub, London College of Fashion, East Bank
Dates and Times: Wednesday 18 November 2026, 10.30am to 3.30pm
Hours paid: 5 hours (Grade 2 via Arts Temps)

Open to postgraduate students from all UAL colleges and institutes, Post-Grad Community’s Post-Grad Connects is a day of conversation, connection and creative networking.

Purpose of Role

We're looking for a current student or alumni to support UAL's Post-Grad Community team in designing and facilitating an engaging networking activity at our Post-Grad Connects event.

The activity should help attendees break the ice, start conversations, and build connections with fellow postgraduate students beyond their own course or College.

Examples of networking activities might include:

    • Networking prompt cards
    • Creative or personality matching
    •  A networking treasure hunt
    • Speed networking

We're open to creative ideas and suggestions. The event is expected to welcome 100-200 postgraduate students and will operate as a drop-in and open plan format, so any activity should be accessible, inclusive, and easy for participants to join at any stage.

There will be up to 10 tabletop activities and UAL departments in the space, so the networking activity needs to be roaming around the event, rather than in 1 fixed spot.

The aim is to create a welcoming environment that encourages students to connect, share experiences, and expand their networks within the UAL community.

Key Responsibilities

    • Design and develop an engaging and inclusive networking activity for postgraduate students.
    • Facilitate and promote the activity during the event, encouraging participation and helping students make meaningful connections.
    •  Adapt the activity to work effectively within a drop-in event format and across the available event space.
    •  Work collaboratively with the Post-Grad Community team to refine ideas and ensure the activity aligns with event objectives.
    • Gather informal feedback and observations to help evaluate the success of the activity and inform future events.

Personal Specification

Experience

Previous experience supporting facilitating networking events would be beneficial. However, if you do not have facilitation experience, but have attended networking events, please give examples in your application.

You should be confident communicating with a wide range of people, able to work independently, and willing to take initiative to help ensure the event runs smoothly. A friendly, approachable and reliable attitude is essential

Eligibility

This role is open to all current UAL students and alumni.

We are an equal opportunities employer and positively encourage applications from suitably qualified and eligible candidates regardless of sex, race, disability, age, sexual orientation, gender reassignment, religion or belief, marital status, or pregnancy and maternity.
Apply
Due to high interest, we have limited the number of applications for this role.
This is a UAL Arts Temps role.
