PSE Tech Assistant

Job Description

Tech Assistant will help support the live teaching of our online pre-sessional and Preparation for BA courses. The assistant will also assist during online test times to ensure that the students are taking their tests without technical difficulty.

Access to a laptop/PC and a strong, reliable internet connection is required in order to support live online lessons.

Purpose of the role:

Provide support for any emerging technical issues for both students and tutors during the online course.
To assist with the running of course induction, tutor events online and online tests.
Create and update Moodle, Workflow and BB Collaborate access links, create assignment pages, groups, rooms, etc
Provide on-going online administrative support to students and tutors online
Monitoring students' attendance

Personal Specification

Competency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook - and working collaboratively online

Experience of Moodle and Blackboard Collaborate Ultra ideally in a support role
Excellent numeracy, accuracy and attention to detail
Communicates effectively orally, in writing and/or using visual media
Works collaboratively in a team or with different professional groups
An understanding of the international student experience at UAL
Contributes to the work of the team, providing support, assistance and cover where needed with a ‘can-do’ approach
Uses initiative or creativity to resolve day-to-day-problems
Distinguishes between the need to make a decision and when to defer to others
