Day in the Life – UAL HallsLife Content Brief
Overview
Create a short-form "Day in the Life" video that captures what studying and living at UAL is really like. These videos will be used on the UAL HallsLife Instagram channel to help future and new students feel excited, welcomed and prepared for university life.
We are looking for one Day in the Life video from each hall to showcase the variety of student experiences across the UAL accommodation community.

Your video should provide an authentic insight into your daily routine as a UAL student, from your morning routine and journey to campus through to creative projects, social activities and life in halls.
Deliverables
Please submit:

60–90 seconds in length

9:16 portrait format

MP4 file format
-
Authentic and informal in tone
-
Edited using external software (e.g. CapCut)

No TikTok or Instagram edits
-
No visible editing software watermarks or logos
Submission deadline:
First draft: 9 July 2026
Final delivery: 10 July 2026
What Your Video Should Include
Your content should tell a clear story throughout the day and may include:

Getting ready for college

Essentials you bring for your studies

Your journey to campus

Creative projects and behind-the-scenes moments

Study breaks, cafés and favourite food spots

Time spent in halls and with friends
-
Events, gym sessions and social activities
-
Evening routines and wind-down moments
Most importantly, be yourself. We want to see your personality and what makes your student experience unique.
Important Information
Consent
Please ensure you have consent from anyone who appears in your video. Explain that the content may be used to promote UAL HallsLife to future students and ask them to complete a consent form where required.
Privacy
Do not include any personal or sensitive information in your footage. For example:

Avoid filming sign-in sheets or personal documents

Do not reveal room numbers or other identifying information

Be mindful of student privacy at all times
Representation
Please aim to capture a diverse range of students and experiences that reflect the UAL community.
Style Guidance

Keep the tone positive, authentic and welcoming

Avoid swearing or inappropriate language

Film as steadily as possible

Let your personality shine through, whether through editing, voiceover or speaking directly to camera

Feel free to add creative cover text and graphics

Do not edit within TikTok or Instagram, as this can affect reach and may add watermarks

We will add captions, so there is no need to include these yourself
