UAL Hall Ambassador

Job Description

The UAL Accommodation team is looking for friendly, confident students to work as Hall Ambassadors during our upcoming Hall Tours. These tours coincide with College Open Days which are running throughout the autumn term.

You'll be helping prospective students and their parents or guardians get a feel for what it's like to live in UAL Accommodation.

To be a Hall Ambassador, you'll need to currently live in one of the following UAL Halls:

Hawthorne House
Wick Park
Highline Building
Sketch House
Glassyard Building
Signal House
The Costume Store
Portland House
Gardens House

The role is all about sharing your genuine, first-hand experience with visitors, and you will be required to show your room to visitors as part of the tours.

We're recruiting up to three Hall Ambassadors for each hall.

What you'll be doing:

Welcoming prospective students and their families to your hall of residence
Taking small groups of visitors on a tour around the accommodation – this will include showing your room and shared flat facilities
Sharing your own experience of living in halls
Answering general questions about Halls Life
Helping create a friendly, welcoming atmosphere
Letting visitors know what they can do next if they're interested in UAL Accommodation

Additional information:

In addition to the hours that the tours are running, we pay an additional hour to each ambassador per day of working so that you can tidy and clean your room ready for the tours.

When necessary, the UAL Halls team will arrange for your shared kitchen and communal area in your flat to be professionally cleaned ahead of each day of tours. Ambassadors will be asked to check the kitchens on the morning of the tours with the Hall RM.

Other students who are living in the same flat where the tours are taking place, will receive a food voucher on the day of the tour in case they are unable to use their kitchen facilities.

If a tour is cancelled, we will give you as much notice as possible.

Likewise, if you are unable to work on a tour, please advise as soon as you can so we can offer the job to another ambassador.

Hours: Hours will vary according to each date and hall. Please see the hours on the schedule below.

Rate: Grade 1

Please head down to the halls' reception 30 minutes before the first tour of the day, to meet with the Halls team who are running the tours that day.

That you currently live in a UAL hall, and which hall
That you are available to work all dates at your hall (see schedule above)
Confirm that we are able to show your room as part of the tour
