UAL are seeking a Social Media and Communications Assistant to support the MACC programme by increasing the visibility of the course, documenting and promoting our activities, and—most importantly—showcasing the curatorial work of the cohort. This role is designed specifically for MACC students, who best understand the needs, tone, and ambitions of the programme.
You will work closely with the course team and collaborate with the Degree Show communications team. This role does not replace the Degree Show social media position but complements it through ongoing content creation and programme-wide visibility.
Key Responsibilities
- Content creation: Write engaging captions, posts, and updates that reflect the voice and values of the MACC programme.
- Development of the MACC Instagram with a possibility of other social media platforms, using the MACC visual identity.
- Documentation: Photograph and record MACC events, workshops, talks, and activities.
- Visual editing: Edit images and prepare content for publication, ensuring a consistent and professional aesthetic.
- Social media management: Maintain and grow the MACC Instagram presence, posting regularly and strategically.
- Promotion: Highlight student curatorial work, programme achievements, and upcoming events.
- Event attendance: Attend and document most MACC events (both compulsory and non-compulsory).
- Liaising with relevant Communications and Marketing colleagues across CCW and UAL, to promote MACC activities across UAL marketing channels.
Why This Role Matters
This position plays a key part in shaping how the MACC programme is seen within and beyond the university. It’s an opportunity to develop professional communications experience, build a portfolio, and contribute meaningfully to the visibility of your cohort’s curatorial work.
