LCC Library Shelver

UAL is looking for a diligent and efficient Library Shelver. This role best suits a candidate with previous admin experience who can adapt quickly to support the department's services.

Responsibilities may include

• Shelve books and other library items with accuracy and time efficiency.
• Tidy shelves, including re-filling misplaced items.
• Complete monitoring forms at given times.
• Occasional cleaning of shelves.
• Assigned one-task duties involving library book stock.

Ideal candidates should possess the following qualities:

• Reliability, good timekeeping, familiarity with libraries.
• Good numeracy and be confident working with numbers, as books need to be filed on the shelves with accuracy and efficiency, and in good time. Full training in the library's numbering system will be provided.
• The shelver needs to be able to push book trolleys, and also to shelve books for periods of two hours at a time. Guidance in safe handling will be provided.
• Willingness to complete additional tasks related to shelving and tidying, which will be set at the appropriate times.
