Duration / Hours: 110 hours, from 23 November 2026 to 25 June 2027.
What do Digital Learning Champions do?
The Champions work in partnership with Digital Learning staff on a range of projects to improve the student experience of digital learning at LCC. They will also contribute student feedback and perspectives to our digital learning activities.
Your course discipline may also be relevant to the role. For example, experience in video, audio production, graphic design or UX.
Each successful candidate will be assigned to one of this year’s project strands:
Student-Led Induction Videos
We are looking for two video producers who can work together to create short student-led videos and a style guide. This work will form part of our new LCC Start Well project, a dedicated Moodle area that brings together induction materials and support for students during their first six weeks of study.
Audio and Video Recording Pod
We are researching the business case for an audio and video recording pod in the new building. This space would enable students to record presentations and other content if they do not have suitable facilities at home or in halls of residence.
We are looking for a student partner to help us research the need for this facility among students and make recommendations on how best to encourage its use.
What is digital learning?
Digital learning is the use of digital platforms, such as Moodle, Microsoft Teams and Workflow, within teaching and learning activities to enhance the student learning experience.
How and when do Champions work?
Student Digital Learning Champions work both online and in person. Projects will be completed over 110 hours between 23 November 2026 and 25 June 2027.
Some activities, such as meetings and initial training, will take place at specific times. However, many of the project hours will be flexible and can be arranged around students’ course timetables wherever possible.
An induction session will take place in November, followed by individual meetings with your mentor in December to discuss your project.
LCC Students as Partners
Digital Champions are part of a wider community of student partners at LCC. Some of your hours will be spent taking part in collaborative projects with other student partner groups, including Climate Advocates and Change Makers.
What are the duties and responsibilities of Champions?
